Guidance & Discipline

Age appropriate redirection and positive reinforcement, will be our strongest strategies in dealing with things that might require guidance and discipline.  Children who are old enough to understand, will be spoken to on their level, and explained why they are being redirected.

 

After some time, if these methods are not working, and the behavior continues, I will then have the child participate in a period of reflection time. The child will be able to reflect for a few minutes, and talk through the guidance if needed. Reflection time will only be used in an age appropriate manner.

 

Letting me know how your family deals with guidance or communicating issues you are currently working through, is always helpful.  Be sure to write down anything you think might be helpful on the Child Information form.
